What's New With The Verse Of The Day

Wednesday April 8th 2015 at 2:01 am

To The Verse of the Day Subscribers and Web Site Users

I want to share our initial two major projects for 2015:

  • The first major project in 2015 is database maintenance. After the maintenance is completed the man who takes care of our server, Sammie, will be switching us to a high end database. By switching database brands we will have the technical capability to support more users accessing the ministry web sites each day and allow us access to custom software Sammie has developed. As a programmer Sammie is very gifted and maintains the web site He has been very generous to us and is a pleasure to collaborate with.
  • The second major project for 2015 is to offer a French and Spanish version of The Verse of the Day web site. I wanted to ask if anyone is bilingual (English - Spanish or English - French) and would be willing to give some time towards the translation effort.

It is my hope to reach and encourage more people in God's love. I would ask that each of you pray that these projects are led and empowered by God's Spirit.

Before I close I want to briefly speak about the hip replacement surgery I underwent on February 27th 2015 to ask for your prayer support. I am physically incapable of performing the normal hip replacement surgery physiotherapy regime. My right knee joint is deteriorated. Many of the stretches require a healthy and normal functioning knee joint.

Using a community swimming pool is an alternative. However this is advancing the arthritis in my right knee joint and there are still many stretches I am unable to perform. I continue to be dependent on an electric wheelchair since my mobility hasn't improved as a result of this surgery. I am also continuing to experience chronic pain. These challenges stem from my original hip disease and the lack of effective medical treatment when I was between three and five years old.

Since I am expecting to be in chronic pain and face mobility challenges indefinitely I am seriously considering lifestyle changes. I would very much benefit from housing designed for the needs and short comings of my body. This would take the marathon out of daily chores. For this to happen I need to see the ministry grow to become my career. I ask that you would pray for the Lord Jesus to bring the growth that is needed for this to materialize. This ministry is nothing without the power of the Holy Spirit. I am in this for the long haul. Thank you for praying for me.
