One Year Bible Reading Guide For Today:
Exodus 10, 11 & 12: In the Lord's infinite wisdom Moses is assigned to lead God's chosen people, the Israelites, out of bondage from the land of Egypt. Moses and Aaron go before Pharaoh and his officials to demand the Israelites be able to worship the living God away from the Egyptians to avoid being mocked. With Pharaoh's hardened heart God brings a new plague in judging Egypt for this disobedience. Locusts invade the land. With a confession that Pharaoh sinned against God in denying the Israelites to worship the plague ended. Yet once again Pharaoh's heart is hardened towards the living God. In God's holiness a plague of darkness now takes over the land of Egypt. The final plague God brings to the land of Egypt establishes the Passover. The firstborn son and cattle belonging to the Egyptians dies. The spirit of death passed over the houses belonging to the Israelites. In Pharaoh's hardened heart the holiness of God is demonstrated. This is achieved by setting apart the Israelites from the full wrath of the living God demonstrated against the Egyptians during the ten plagues.
