The Verse of the Day for Friday February 5th 2010
Bible Reading For Today:
Romans 12:18-21
If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengence is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. "But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
- NASB

One Year Bible Reading Guide For Today:
Exodus 13, 14 & 15: With the living God sending no additional plagues to judge the land of Egypt the time has finally come for the Isrealites to leave the land and life of bondage. They prepare themselves to leave Egypt by dedicating their first born for the Lord's use (both animals and people). God is leading His people towards the Red Sea using a cloud during the day and a pillar of fire at night, allowing them to travel during their waking hours. Once again Pharaoh's heart is hardened towards the living God and he sends his army to chase down and bring back the Isrealites to Egypt. With Moses stretching his hand over the Red Sea a path is made and God's chosen people are able to cross on dry ground. With the Egyptian army chasing them Moses stretches his hand towards the sea. The dry ground the Isrealites crossed on floods. Members of the Egyptian army drown. The living God has saved His people. With this sign the Isrealites have reverence for the living God and celebrate what He has done for them. They put their trust in Moses to lead them as God's servant. God provides life giving water in the desert so His chosen people won't perish on the way to the Promised Land.
