One Year Bible Reading Guide For Today:
Mark 7 & 8; Psalms 18: Mark 7-8 Summary: Jesus teaches us that our thoughts and desires are what defiles us. This is the root cause of our actions. As we mature in our faith we become Christ-like in our desires. It is Jesus who honours our faith. As we pursue Him we will see Him at work in our life. As we desire more of the Lord in our life we will miracles happen which glorify His name. Jesus feeds four thousand people from seven loaves and fish. Yet still there were many who didn't believe in Him. These people sought for more signs for proof, not basing their faith on Jesus teaching. Peter's great confession that Jesus is the Messiah happen as Jesus prepares His disciples for Himself to be crucified. We are reminded that if we are going to live for the Lord we need to make sacrifices and in turn God's blessing will follow as our faith matures. Psalms 18 Summary: A reminder is given to us: We may cry out for God's help regardless of what circumstance we have found ourselves in. Even though there will be challenges God's peace will strengthen us. After facing trials and temptation and calling on the name of our God we will sing His praises.
