One Year Bible Reading Guide For Today:
Mark 9 & 10; Psalms 19: Mark 9-10 Summary: Jesus is preparing for His crucifixion. The transfiguration occurred. Jesus was on a mountain with Peter, James and John. Elijah and Moses appeared to talk with Jesus. Jesus earthly ministry continues healing a boy oppressed by an evil spirit. Jesus teaching to His disciples near the time of His death prepares them for His Kingdom to expand. His teaching matures their faith to pass the test of His crucifixion. We are taught to be committed to our spouse and to allow our faith to mature like how a child trusts an adult. We are reminded not to place our faith in material objects but o place the Kingdom of God as a priority in our life. Jesus continues to teach His disciples about His pending death and how they are to live as His followers. Blind Bartimaeus receives his sight because of the persistence of his faith. He had to ignore those who were oppressing him in reaching out to Jesus for this miracle. Psalm 19 Summary: Nature is God's silent witness. When we take time to be still we see the work of the Lord our God in our world. The Lord is there to guide and to comfort us in life's journey. There is joy in knowing the Lord Jesus Christ.
