One Year Bible Reading Guide For Today:
Leviticus 7, 8 & 9: The Lord is continuing to meet with Moses. He is providing directions for the various types of offerings the priests are to perform. With each type of offering specific instructions are given. Then the Lord will accept the offerings the priests perform. As well atonement will have been for the wrong doings of God's chosen people and expressions of God's love accepted in their sacrificial offerings. Very specific instructions are given to Moses by the Lord for the guilt and fellowship offerings. The Lord also instructs the Israelites through Moses not to eat the fat of animals or animal blood. The Lord is providing food for the priests to eat as part of the requirements of the Israelites in their sacrifices and offerings. The Lord has appointed Aaron and his sons as the priests. God is providing specific instructions for the ordination of them. The Lord is consecrating the priests for the work He has assigned them to do. They begin their priestly ministry by making a number of sacrifices for themselves and God's chosen people. When they finish and exit the Tent of Meeting the fire from the presence of the Lord consumes the offerings. The Lord accepted the sacrifices. The Israelites respond by prostrating themselves before the Lord.
