Bible Reading For Today:
John 15:13-15
Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends, if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

One Year Bible Reading Guide For Today:
Leviticus 10, 11 & 12: The holiness of God and His desire to have a relationship with people is the common thread throughout the commandments He is giving to Moses for the Israelites to follow. The instructions the Lord gave to Moses for sacrifices and offerings were to bridge the gap in acquitting the Israelites of their wrong doing. The Lord was specific when training Moses that it is the job of the priests to perform the sacrifices. Nadab and Adibu sin in the eyes of the Lord when they make their own sacrifices. The fire of God consumes them both and they die. Moses leadership is sought in the aftermath of their deaths. With Moses willingness to serve the Lord instructions are given to Moses on how to manage this situation. This becomes a teachable moment for Aaron and the priests. The Lord now teaches Moses about clean and unclean food. The unclean food is not to be consumed by the Israelites. With great detail the Israelites are taught which animals they may eat. The Lord also teaches Moses on the requirements for purification following childbirth. The requirements for a baby boy and baby girl are different. When fulfilled the woman who gave birth will be reconciled to the Lord.
