Bible Reading For Today:
Isaiah 62:4
It will no longer be said to you, "Forsaken," Nor to your land will it any longer be said, "Desolate"; But you will be called, "My delight is in her," And your land, "Married"; For the Lord delights in you, And to Him your land will be married.

One Year Bible Reading Guide For Today:
Numbers 1, 2 & 3: Just as we are familiar with the census which brought Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem for Jesus birth the Lord is requiring Moses to perform a census. He is to list the adult male population to assess who is able to serve in the army. The Lord is providing Moses with a list of delegated people to carry out this census. The Levites (one of the tribes) is exempt from serving in the army. Instead they are responsible for the disassembling and reassembling of the Tabernacle while the Israelites wonder in the desert. With the priests being at the center of Israelite living the Lord is directing the twelve tribes to setup their camps around the Tent of Meeting. The Israelites were obedient to God in following His directions. The tribe of Levi have been set apart by the Lord as assistants to the priests. Moses and Aaron's role is the upkeep of the Tabernacle. God has honored Moses obedience in leading the Israelites. With Aaron's help Moses is responsible for the upkeep of the sanctuary. With this being a holy place God is requiring anyone who approaches the sanctuary (except Moses and Aaron) to be put to death.
