Bible Reading For Today:

Psalm 51:10-13
Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Thy presence, And do not take Thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation, And sustain me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Thy ways, And sinners will be converted to Thee.
- NASB

One Year Bible Reading Guide For Today:

Numbers 13, 14 & 15: The Lord is bringing the Israelites to Canaan. Moses sends spies into Canaan to investigate the land. Their report confirms the richness of the land. But many of the spies are filled with fear. They see the inhabitants of Canaan as strong and mighty men. The Iraelite people focused on the strength of the Canaanite people according to the report of the spies and they also become full of fear. They longed to be in Egypt, the land that once held them bondage. Yet Caleb, one of the spies, acting under the Lord's strength tries to remind the Israelite people that it is the Lord who brought them out of Egypt and that God is faithful to His promises. The Lord's anger is roused as the people complain and contemplate stoning Moses and Aaron. Again Moses makes intercession for the Israelite people. The Lord relents. However because of their unbelief the current Israelite generation won't enter the promised land. As the spies were the source of the bad report about Canaan and caused the Isrealite people to fear they die from a plague the Lord sends --- all but Caleb who believed the Lord at His word. The Isrealite people offer sacrifices for their sin and make an offering for the Lord's greatness. A man breaks the Sabbath and is stoned to death because of his sin. The Israelites are instructed to make tassels on their garments as a reminder of the Lord's commandments.
