Life's Questions

I have a long term disability and am struggling with having someone assist me in my home.

I want to share with you what I learned when I found myself in this situation. Having someone assist me in the running my home allowed me to spend my energy on what I enjoy and use my gifts serving others in my online ministry. By having help my quality of life has improved.

I want to assure you that good home care workers are willing to take detailed instructions from you. They are willing to respect you by cleaning or cooking a certain way. They will show respect towards you if you require care with personal hygiene.

I realize it isn't easy to give up caring for yourself. But if it is an issue of your health and safety and an opportunity is presenting itself to you I would encourage you to consider accepting the offer. Who you are doesn't change by having someone aid in your home making. Instead you could see this as Jesus providing for your needs.
